Jefferson International Academy (JIA) seeks a diverse community of students, bringing urban and suburban youth together, to instill harmony and social acceptance of cultural diversities.
The Academy provides a nurturing environment that focuses on rigorous academic standards in the core content areas, skill enhancement for utilizing 21st century technology, and strong character development program within a Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) system, where proactive strategies for defining, teaching and support appropriate students behaviors supports a positive school climate.
At JIA, we are educating students to become global citizens in our world. Through integrated global themes and social studies lessons, having diverse and globally responsive libraries, exploring cultures and traditions, addressing tough world issues, we seek to empower students to make a difference in the world. A future goal is to offer opportunities for student exchanges within the international community.
JIA serves students on two campuses sharing one common vision. The Pre-K through grade 3 program is located at 60 S Lynn Avenue. The intermediate/middle school, serving students in grades 4-8 is located at 825 Golf Drive, Pontiac, MI 48341.
